On account of its humid climate and fertile soil, Qatif Area’s economic activities are mainly comprised of farming, and requires irrigation systems that utilize the use of grey water instead of the underground water and move toward sustainable resources.
Al Jaroudiah pumping station is the major irrigation station in the region, responsible for storing and pumping the gray water from the nearby Jaroudiah waste watertreatment plant into the irrigation network of 350 Ha of farm lands. The Saudi Irrigation Organization planned to review its operations, and expand its irrigation network.
